As you can tell from here, Carolyn gave birth on the 19th of March to Daniel Paul Macneall. He was 4.25 kg (about 9lb 4 ounces) and 52 cm (~20 in) and was born by caesarian section at 2.31 pm. Check out the photos so far.
I'm a graduate of the University of Western Australia. I finished my Computer Science degree in 1998. This is pretty much a boring web page, hand coded in vim. I will put up different things that I have done over the last few years, and use it to test out different things that I am trying to learn!
I originally worked for for Dynamic Digital Depth Inc. as a software engineer for over 6 years. I worked on many projcts for them, including the new TriDef suite of products. I was originally hired as a Java programmer, but after 2 years was converted to a C++ programmer. Most of the last 4 years at DDD was spent coding using Borland C++ Builder and the VCL framework. I wrote several end user applications and many custom components for other developers to use. But in August 2004 I decided it was time to move on.I then did an 18 month stint at ERG, who are providers of integrated ticketing systems for the public transport industry. They have systems in place all over the world. I spent most of my time working on the WMATA (Washington) project, with occasional forays into the Seattle and San Fransisco projects to help out when they were under resourced.
Now I am at HarvestRoad. We make repository software that is being used by education institutions (like UWA) and big companies (like British Aerospace) as a way of storing and controlling their documents. It provides version control as well as workflow management all through the browser.
I recommend Opera web browser to everyone, it has the best implementation of tabbed browsing (and yes I have tried firefox, but it just wouldn't quite behave as I wanted). Opera is now free, so go download it now
Java Stuff
Here is a page of java info that I will put solutions to common (and
not so common) problems as I come across them
This is a limited HTML manual for the use of the gnuplot graphing system. Gnuplot is found mainly on "Unix" like machines. It was created for a unit that I took during University, Human and Computer Interaction, and was mostly an exercise in screen capturing and image editing :)
I am married to the wonderful Carolyn, you can check out our wedding pictures here. Thanks to Anne for running around with my camera all afternoon, and also thanks to Greg and Charlie for their pictures.
I play baseball for the UWA Baseball & Softball Club, and volleyball for the Balcatta Volleyball Club
